SQUIRT HOCKEY

The Squirts program (ages 9-10) marks an exciting transition in youth hockey where players begin competing on full ice and developing more advanced individual and team skills. At this level, Jr. Colonials players build upon their fundamental skating abilities while learning positional play, tactical awareness, and the importance of teamwork in game situations.

Our Squirts teams practice twice weekly with additional skills sessions, focusing on stick handling, passing accuracy, shooting techniques, and defensive positioning. Games become more structured at this level, introducing offsides and icing rules, while maintaining an emphasis on player development and equal ice time. This balanced approach ensures young players continue to grow their love for hockey while advancing their competitive abilities.
