The Bantam level (ages 13-14) marks a transformative period in youth hockey where players begin to showcase their advanced skills and hockey IQ at significantly higher speeds. Jr. Colonials Bantam players experience a heightened level of competition and physicality, with body checking becoming more prominent and game strategies growing increasingly sophisticated. Players at this level demonstrate enhanced decision-making abilities and start to develop their own unique playing styles while mastering team systems.
Our Bantam program implements a comprehensive training regimen including three on-ice practices weekly, dedicated power skating sessions, and structured off-ice conditioning. Players receive position-specific coaching while continuing to develop all-around hockey skills, preparing them for high school and potentially higher levels of competition. The program emphasizes leadership development, mental preparation, and advanced game strategy, while maintaining a strong focus on sportsmanship and team unity. Video analysis sessions are incorporated to help players better understand game situations and improve tactical awareness.
